I have nothing inventive to say today... I'm enjoying my time in Utah. I went mudding for the first time and never felt so redneck especially after my brother purchased a raccoon hat for me at te gas station... I'm on my way to take some photos in the corn fields so pray thAt I don't get taken by aliens and regret the things they'll do to me.
It's a fuuny thing getting to know people. I feel that I have to more careful the next time. Impretty bad at reading signs, or guys are pretty bad at sending them. I have seemed to offend someone recently and I really don't know what to do about it. He and I shared a con ersation about god and well he just isn't too sure about the big man up stairs, and I respect that. However I accidently sent hi
a " god box" on facebook just another one of those stupid applications that I sent to everyone. He didn't talk to me for a couple of days soni sent him a mesage saying hi sorry if I freaked you out. He responded with no but I don't apprecite the god box thing you sent me. He thought that it wasn't fair for me to try and push god on him. Which made me angry because he hasn't given me the chance to let him know that I could care less about whAt he believes in; just as long as he's not sacrificing animals. I was a little heated when I write him back and my sarcasism might have been too much. He hasn't responded and I don't know what to do about it.. This is a crazy thing to cause someone to be Angry with me... This is why I prefer talking to someone in person or over the phone , they can hear my inflection and laughter, knowing when I am joking or not ... Really???:(

I love reading your words. They transform into the sound of your voice and I feel as if as I was in your presence. Don't worry about the man and the god box. Some of us have enough heart to reflect on the situation and conclude that we have done something wrong or are at fault, but is he really upset about a free application for facebook? If he considers himself a friend he should at the very least appreciate the unknown gesture from your behalf as comical or accidental not confrontational. As for you.... you are human. And not everybody in the school bus appreciated sarcasm, why would they now?
ReplyDeleteTravel abroad, will give you plenty inventive things to write about....
Politics and religion are the two topics that can break even the best friends apart :)) I've had that experience with one on my bestest friends back in college (she still is one of the only two friends i actually keep in touch with on a regular basis from home ). Since I have never belonged to any religion officially, meaning I have never been christened/baptized or even attended a church, she just plain and straight told me that I technicly do not exist in God's eyes :))
ReplyDeleteYeah, I remember that evening just like now - we were chatting in her kitchen over a few beers and what not, having a good time and why in the world would I even bring the ortodox topic up, I dont know.
Actually I do know - she comes from a very religious family that follows all the traditions and reads Bible on the ragular basis - so I was just asking her some questions that interested me from an educational stand point.
But I sure did learn my lesson. Even now the most offensive thing people at my tables can ever do is intrude my religious views or try to pressure their own on me.
